A panel of six square tiles forming a continuous design of saz leaves and serrated tulips issuing from a central rosette, painted in cobalt, viridian and the celebrated 'Armenian bole' tomato red beneath a clear lead glaze. The assured drawing and bold palette place the panel firmly in the late sixteenth century, when Iznik wares clad the great mosques and madrasas of Sinan, including the Selimiye in Edirne.
