A pear-shaped mosque lamp painted in cobalt and turquoise beneath a transparent lead glaze, the body articulated with three lug handles for suspension. Around the shoulder, an interlaced cartouche frieze encloses a thuluth inscription drawn from Surat al-Nur, while the neck bears a band of saz leaves issuing from a central rosette.

Comparable lamps were produced for the imperial mosques of Süleyman the Magnificent and may be associated with the workshops patronised by the chief court architect Sinan.
