A deep bowl of conical profile, the interior decorated in golden copper lustre on a tin-white ground with a central palmette enclosed by an interlaced kufic inscription bearing the word al-yumn - 'good fortune'. The exterior bears alternating cartouches of hatched ornament and serrated arabesque.
Málagan lustrewares of this type were exported as far as Sicily, England and the Low Countries, where they appear in fifteenth-century panel paintings.
