A group of twelve hand-struck akçes spanning the reigns of Mehmed II Fâtih and Bayezid II. The obverses bear the sultanic tughra in fluent thuluth, while the reverses record the place and year of mintage in formulaic kufic.
The series provides a numismatic chronicle of the consolidation of Ottoman authority in the wake of the conquest of Constantinople in 857 AH / 1453 CE.
